In today’s dental offices, dental implants are a mainstream treatment for missing and soon to be missing teeth. As quickly as the design of these implants have changed, so to have the options for restoring them. In addition, patients are expecting not just an “implant” but a “tooth”. This lecture provides today’s restorative and surgical practitioners with up-to-date information on materials and concepts to provide the patient with what they want, functional and esthetic teeth.  3 CE Units

Learning Objectives:

  • Become familiar with current materials for implant abutment/restorations.
  • Understand the criteria for screw retained and cement retained restorations.
  • Review of cementation protocol for minimizing excess cement extrusion.
  • Understand the use of angulated prosthetic screw channels for screw retention.

Dr. Quincy Gibbs, completed his DDS at the University of Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco in 2004. Dr. Gibbs then returned to Northern Nevada where he worked in general and implant dentistry for more than eight years in a multi-doctor private practice. During his time as a general dentist, Dr. Gibbs was active with the local and state dental component societies. In 2012, Dr. Gibbs then sought to pursue additional specialty training at the UCSF School of Dentistry, Graduate Prosthodontic Program. He completed his Prosthodontic Residency and Specialty Certificate in 2015 and joined the Dental Implant Center at Walnut Creek in 2017.

He is a Board-Certified Prosthodontist and a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, a member of the American Dental Association, a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists, and a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI). Dr. Gibbs shares his knowledge within the dental community and has lectured on the topics of implant dentistry and Prosthodontics with a focus on current digital workflows. He enjoys spending time with his wonderful family
